The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, supporting audits, managing grant and fund accounting, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. This role plays a key part in supporting the organization's financial health and mission-driven programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Monitor and track restricted and unrestricted funds.
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Prepare grant-related financial reports and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
• Support annual audits and maintain internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in the nonprofit, government, or private sector.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting, grant management, and financial reporting preferred.
• Experience in affordable housing, real estate development, or construction is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
